ABOUT L&S PRINTS L & S Prints prides itself on being a small professional outlet serving a variety of clients from large to small enterprises. With over 100 years of professional experience we can proudly say we have an in-depth understanding of the processes and technology involved in large format digital printing. Sublimation printing / heat transfer printing? Dye sublimation printing was introduced commercially in the late 60's to solve the problem of printing onto polyester yarn and other man-made fabrics. Since then, the development of new and even better man-made fibres and the increasing sophistication of techniques has seen dye sublimation printing grow in popularity.
The design is added to the sublimation paper via digital colour printing and then transfered to the polyester yarn by passing both the sublimation paper and fabric over a large heated roller and, at the correct temperature and pressure, transferring the design from paper to fabric by a process of dye sublimation printing, where the dyes change from a solid to gas without becoming liquid. The sublimation paper and the polyester yarn cross the roller, the heat transfers the pattern from the paper onto the fabric. Printing procedure with L & S Prints:
L & S prints are committed to providing the highest quality service. As part of this service we maintain the following procedures:
Samples are printed every morning and despatched the same day. L & S have strict quality control. A copy of the advice note will be sent with each delivery that indicates roll lengths before, and after printing. We work to a D&K of 3%. All paper stock and cloth is monitored after each print run.
